VISAGE

VIrtual SAmple GEnerator for 3D textile design 

 

The objective of VISAGE is to reach the commercialisation of a new and innovative fabric Virtual Prototyping tool, fully integrated with cost definition, production management (ERP and MES) and sales support mobile applications. VISAGE virtual prototyping tool will be natively design to support EU SME manufacturers in their design process, to drastically increase the percentage of success of fabric design proposal in relation with market demand, to reduce costs and increase speed of fabric design process.

EXTRO SKILLS

Developing New Skills for the Extroversion Specializations of Fashion Industry in Europe

 

The overall objective of EXTRO SKILLS is the design and implementation of an innovative and comprehensive training protocol for export personnel of fashion industries, using ICT-based learning approaches and methodologies that will offer essential transversal skills for enabling them to be ready to respond to international trade and market demands and enhancing the extroversion and the competitiveness of the industry as a whole. Bringing together the different sectors of fashion industries, the training protocol will follow a comprehensive learner-centered approach.

The platform focuses on online training and facilitate dissemination of knowledge and sharing of experience. Moreover, it serves as a medium for all stakeholders in the field to share concerns and advice, as well as promote employment opportunities.

EUROPEAN SOCIAL DIALOGUE “CAPACITY BUILDING” IN THE TEXTILE AND CLOTHING INDUSTRY

The aim of this project is to provide an updated picture of the European T&C sector and using this information to defining future priorities, projects and produce a strategic roadmap for the EU Social Dialogue. Information and data collected and elaborated during the 18 months of the project have been structured in four areas:

  • STRUCTURAL SECTOR DATA
  • S.W.O.T. ANALYSIS
  • SOCIAL DIALOGUE: COUNTRY ANALYSIS
  • T&C FUTURE SECTORAL PRIORITIES ROADMAP

SMART@FIRE

Smart@Fire a European project to develop smart firefighter uniforms through a collaborative pre-commercial procurement procedure has entered its final stage. Earlier in 2016 the 2 competing prototype solutions underwent a successful testing and both consortia, one Austrian-led, one Czech-led, were awarded a follow-up contract to go into sample production in view of a full field testing in November 2016. All results will be presented at the final project event on 14-15 December in Brussels. The latest project newsletter is available here

FASHION-ABLE

Fashion able researches on customized safe and healthy products for consumers with special needs.  Participated by EURATEX, the project develops technologies for flexible and eco-efficient production of clothing, footwear and orthotics for consumers with sitting posture and ease of dressing issues, (including wheel chairs-users), thermal comfort, hygiene, skin care and other needs.

MATVAL

SUSTA-SMART

EURATEX participates in SUSTA-SMART, the project which links research and standardization to boost the market-uptake of smart textiles. Standardization is key issue for further exploitation and commercialization of smart textiles, and therefore to untap the huge market potential of such textiles.

PROsumer.NET

This project led by EURATEX brings together 5 European Technology Platforms (T&C, sporting goods, footwear, wood & paper-based industries, machinery) from the consumer goods sectors with an objective of developing a joint research roadmap for these industries and related EU research, innovation & education policy recommendations.

The project started on 1 June and will last for 24 months. A first public seminar was held on 22 June in Brussels attended by some 60 experts from across the various consumer goods sectors. EC representatives of DG Research & DG Enterprise highlighted the political potential of this initiative.

NANOfuture

The NANOfuture project has developed a community and roadmap to tackle needs and gaps to effectively bring nanotechnologies in the market, based on extensive consultations with different European Technology Platforms, experts and other stakeholders. The website provides updated relevant info updated beyond the project end.

EURATEX role in Nanofuture was mainly  to investigate and to promote matters of interest to its industry with a view at facilitating the exploitation of such promising  technologies also in the textile and clothing sector.
