INNOwater: The project addresses the challenge of effective water/ waste-water management faced by several industrial sectors. EURATEX role is to facilitate the diffusion of best-available-technologies in the textile industry while promoting awareness on these matters within the industry. An event presenting some early results is being organised to take place within the current year.

PROsumer.NETPROsumer.NET project launched: This project led by EURATEX brings together 5 European Technology Platforms (T&C, sporting goods, footwear, wood & paper-based industries, machinery) from the consumer goods sectors with an objective of developing a joint research roadmap for these industries and related EU research, innovation & education policy recommendations. The project started on 1 June and will last for 24 months. A first public seminar was held on 22 June in Brussels attended by some 60 experts from across the various consumer goods sectors. EC representatives of DG Research & DG Enterprise highlighted the political potential of this initiative.

Building UpBUILDING UP project launched: This 18-months project aims at intensifying collaboration between European Technology Platforms with interest in construction and building materials innovation. The project led by the European Construction Technology Platform brings together a total of 5 materials-related European Technology Platform. The project will develop a medium-to-long-term research agenda for materials research for energy-efficiency of construction, buildings and infrastructures. EURATEX represents the interests of the Textile Technology Platform as has invited industry and research experts from the textile sector to join expert working groups of the project.

Tex-WebTex-WeB Project: The first TexWeB training seminar on research, innovation & standardisation for T&C associations from Albania, Croatia, Macedonia & Serbia was organised on 15-16 June in Zagreb, hosted and excellently organised by EURATEX member federation Croatian Employers Association. The Tex-WeB project is a training and capacities building project for textile and clothing industry federations in the Western Balkan countries.

eBiz follow-up initiativeeBIZ FOLLOW UP initiative: eBIZ is an EURATEX lead initiative supported by the European Commission to stimulate the fashion companies to adopt interoperable e-Business in exchanging orders/data among suppliers and clients. With eBIZ concrete advantages for efficiency and cost-reductions have been demonstrated in the e-Business operation between 2008 and - 2010 when more then 150 companies participated in the project work.
Based on these clear results, in 2011 EURATEX cooperates with CEN (European body for standardisations) to submit a proposal for a CEN Workshop Agreement with the objectivesof: upgrading the eBIZ results and stimulating wider adoption of e-Business in the industry. Outcome of the proposal evaluation is expected in September 2011.
